MEMBERSHIP WAIVER AND PUBLICITY RELEASE

I acknowledge that training for and or racing in a running, duathlon, triathlon, or other multi-sport event can be an extreme test of a person’s physical and mental limits, is potentially hazardous, and carries with it the potential for injury or property loss. I hereby assume the risks of participating in all activities organized by Front Runners New York, Inc., or its members. I certify that I am physically fit and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical person. I affirm that I have read this document and understand its contents.

In consideration for your acceptance of this application to become a member of Front Runners New York, Inc., a) I for myself and for anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive, release, and discharge Front Runners New York, Inc., its members, sponsors, officers, representatives, and coaches from all claims and liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in or traveling to or from a Front Runners New York, Inc., activity; b) I agree not to sue any of the persons or entities mentioned above for any of the claims or liabilities that I have waived; and c) I indemnify and hold harmless the persons or entities mentioned above from any claims made or liabilities assessed against them as a result of my actions during an organized Front Runners New York, Inc., activity even though that liability may arise out of the negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver.

I grant permission to FRNY to use or to authorize others to use any photograph or other record of my participation in FRNY activities for any legitimate purpose without remuneration.

AGE REQUIREMENT

You must be 18 years or age or older to join Front Runners New York.

Include a submember in your membership registration

Front Runners New York is a non-profit organization that relies on membership dues and contributions to offer its services. In an effort to preserve the accessibility of the club to all LGBTQ+ New Yorkers, the FRNY Board has not raised Basic Membership ($30) since 1993.

The broad, record-breaking accessibility of the club has only been possible because of the generosity of members with the means to do more. Donations allow FRNY to make expert coaches available to all members and to provide participation subsidies to all who need them.

Coaching Fund
FRNY's Coaching Fund supports the annual salaries of Head Coach Mike Keohane, Assistant Coach Jen Spina, and Assistant Coach Scott Morano-Blickenstaff. Coaches Mike, Jen, and Scott lead weekly workouts in Manhattan and Brooklyn, which are free to all club members regardless of ability level. They support smart training and help every new 5Ker, 10Ker, half marathoner, and marathoner over the finish line.

Participation Fund
FRNY's Participation Fund offers subsidies for club members to ensure access to all activities regardless of financial ability. Members can claim up to 50% support for racing, relays, and other training expenses throughout the year.
